Meet the Authors

Arlo "Zven" Graves
they/them
Arlo “Zven” Graves grew up in rural California mountains surrounded by nature and all the magic it contains. They’re lucky enough to live in their childhood community, in a once abandoned cabin.

Zven lives with a condition called mixed connective tissue disease; think a cousin of lupus. After a particularly bad flare up in 2020, Zven realized how much they wanted to see chronic illness represented in the fantasy adventure stories they loved reading, to see characters find purpose and fulfillment, even without a magical cure.

Zven has a degree in creative writing from the University of California Santa Cruz. Their short nonfiction, Gerald: a Memoir, won the Stories That Need to be Told 2023 grand prize, and their debut novella, Black Rose from Graveside Press, released early 2025.

Molly Haniszewski
they/them, she/her
Molly is a queer, non-binary person with ADHD and autism. She is an avid baker who loves to forage for ingredients in the mountains near her home. Hiking and camping trips offer her lots of opportunities to identify wildflowers and teach her daughter about the natural world.
She has a bachelor's degree in creative writing from Whitworth University. She has had poetry and creative nonfiction published in Montana Woman Magazine, Into the Beautiful: Daring, and several other literary journals and magazines.

Bethany Tap
she/her
Bethany Tap (she/her) grew up as an over-achieving and chronically-anxious oldest daughter in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While she no longer ascribes to the tenets of her religious upbringing, her ethos toward harm-reduction and her progressive values stem from the belief that we should all love our neighbors and be good stewards of our planet.
She received her MFA from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, during which time she married her wife. Love for family and the Midwest brought them back to raise their four children.
A poet and storyteller, her work has been published in Litmosphere, Fahmidan Journal, Yellow Arrow Journal, and Anodyne Magazine, among others.
By day, she helps run her family's manufacturing company. In addition to writing, she enjoys cooking vegan meals, singing, and, of course, reading.

Sarah Goehrke
she/her
Sarah Goehrke (she/her) is a lifelong wordsmith. A featured fiction writer in Voices (Mayfield High School) and First Circle (Muskingum College) literary magazines established a foundational love of writing that has led to many writing/editing careers in the years since. She’s headed two different advanced manufacturing news sites, published in industry media, and is a dedicated DEI/community advocate, including Board experience with three nonprofits. Sarah has keynoted on three continents, acted on dozens of theatrical stages, and long since lost count of her tattoos. She lives with her spouse, child, and menagerie of cats and dog near Cleveland, Ohio, US.

Erin Mason
she/her
title TBD
Erin graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism. Erin went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University, and she currently practices as a litigation attorney licensed in both Florida and Washington, DC. Erin spends her days fiercely advocating for her clients, while her evenings are spent pursuing her passion for creative writing. When she is not in court or at her desk, you can find Erin out in Sarasota, Florida, probably chasing after her energetic goldendoodle, Finn, who humbles her more than any federal judge ever could.
